OPPORTUNITIES FOR DISABLED PEOPLE
"Marie Curie" Association, Plovdiv in cooperation with EUS Community Learning Centre, previously EUS Microbeacon and its European partners, is initiating an international conference, dedicated to innovative training opportunities in the field of Tourism and Hospitality, orientated towards young disabled people.
During the Conference the final results and products of the "A1 for Jobs" Project will be demonstrated in the wider community. This transnational project is financially supported by the "Leonardo da Vinci" Programme of the European Commission. The Conference is the Final Dissemination Event of the project. The project started on 1st October 2004 and will finish on 1st October 2006. E-learning packages with innovative content aiming to increase the qualifications and the opportunities for employment of disabled people were developed within the project. These packages will be presented in detail during the final conference by Ms. Margaret Durie, coordinator of the project.
Some alternatives in the field of life-long learning for disabled people will be discussed. In addition employers in the sector of Tourism and Hospitality will get information about the new methods and techniques for the improvement of the effectiveness and the quality of services provided by their staff.
Official lecturers of the Conference will be the HR Manager of "Intercontinental" Hotel Group (Scotland), policy makers from Bulgaria, experts in the field of life long learning etc.
The Conference will be held on 29 September 2006 in Sofia, Bulgaria.
Representatives from NGOs and training institutions at National and European level are invited to participate in the conference. Many HR managers from the Tourism and Hospitality business sectors are expected to attend the conference.
The venue of the conference will be at Best Western City Hotel Sofia, 6 "Stara planina" Street.
